And thank you for your interest in employment at Baycroft. Welcome to our wonderful world, here in the specialist SEND sector of education.
Baycroft offers a working environment where no two days are ever the same. There is an opportunity to really make a difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities, and the reward of knowing you helped make that difference. Many of our ex-students still talk about how happy they were at Baycroft and how the staff really understood them and their specific needs which has helped them move on to great opportunities and experiences in the wider world.
We have a team of around 90 staff who will tell you how everything we do here is child centred and how our amazing students are the very best part of the job. They will also tell you how well we support and look after each other and how the whole school operates around mutual commitments articulated through our “Baycroft Expects” charters.
When we recruit, we do so with the needs of our students in mind, and so we are looking for people who have a range of different life experiences, characteristics and skills. We want our students to be inspired by you – and you by them. You will need to be flexible, optimistic, have a good sense of humour and above all, an ambition for young people with SEND to make progress and be the best they can be.
A person specification will always be provided with an application pack when there is a current vacancy. Please refer to it carefully when telling us about yourself. The guide to the application process is designed to ensure that your application qualifies for shortlisting, so we strongly suggest that you follow it.
We are a school community which is passionate about celebrating our diversity and neurodiversity in all of our members. You will be very warmly welcomed to add to this – both through your own unique characteristics, and through the absolute commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion which you will need to demonstrate as a successful candidate.
We advertise on Hampshire County Council’s Education Jobs Page (link below) and we will advise on this page if there is a current vacancy.
We welcome your CV if you have any interest in working for us, and we will retain it, with your permission, to contact you if opportunities arise. However, we cannot accept CVs in place of application forms, so please be ready to complete one as part of any recruitment process. Please send your CV to Sarah Kiff – [email protected] with the subject line of CV for Consideration.
Baycroft School is committed to the safeguarding of children and as such all applications will be subject to rigourous exploration of the suitability of candidates to work with our students throughout the recruitment process. This will include taking up of references prior to interview, (please ensure that your referees are aware they will be asked to provide a reference and will be able to do this promptly) and a range of background enquiries including DBS (police) and banned list checks.
Please take time to look around our website and to understand our values as well as the practicalities of working here. We look forward to meeting you in person in due course.
We are actively recruiting for support staff at the moment!
