Baycroft offers a working environment where no two days are ever the same. There is an opportunity to really make a difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities, and the reward of knowing you helped make that difference. Many of our ex-students still talk about how happy they were at Baycroft and how the staff really understood them and their specific needs which has helped them move on to great opportunities and experiences in the wider world.
We have a team of around 90 staff who will tell you how everything we do here is child centred and how our amazing students are the very best part of the job. They will also tell you how well we support and look after each other and how the whole school operates around mutual commitments articulated through our “Baycroft Expects” charters.
All of our staff and governors (and everyone living in their households) are covered by NAHT Wellness wellbeing package. This provides a wide range of free health and wellbeing benefits including; 24 hour GP Service, physiotherapy, complimentary therapies, bereavement support, face to face counselling, wellbeing support line, maternity services, men’s health services, menopause services, cancer and chronic illness support, gym/fitness support, weight loss support, yoga, leadership coaching, relaxation sessions and much, much more!
We also have a very popular yoga & relaxation class a multi-gym available for use by staff and the community outside of school hours.
When we recruit, we do so with the needs of our students in mind, and so we are looking for people who have a range of different life experiences, characteristics and skills. We want our students to be inspired by you – and you by them. You will need to be flexible, optimistic, have a good sense of humour and above all, an ambition for young people with SEND to make progress and be the best they can be.
